I didn’t start in aviation behind a desk. I started pushing wheelchairs. I’m Cuban-American and based in Central Florida.
My first job in the industry was as a passenger service representative. From there I became a customer service supervisor for WestJet at Orlando International Airport. That work taught me something I still carry. Travel is about people. When something breaks, the person in front of you doesn’t care about the system. They care that someone owns the problem.
In 2019 I joined the Central Florida Business Aviation Association (CFBAA), and that same year I went to my first NBAA-BACE. I paid my own way. I didn’t know many people in the room, but I knew I wanted to be in this industry, so I kept showing up.
Seven years later, I serve as Head of Sales, Americas at NERD.aero. A lot of my time goes to listening to operators, flight departments, and FBOs talk about how the work actually gets done. When cybersecurity or custom software around their operations is the right next step, I introduce NERD’s engineering team and aviation technology specialists. When it is not, I say so.
Today I’m the Executive Director of CFBAA. It’s a volunteer role and my way of giving back to the community that gave me a start. Our focus is workforce development, education, and real community for young people who are curious about aviation. Career paths in business aviation are way wider than most people think, and I want more students and young professionals to see that map early.
I’m a builder at heart. I founded Glades Air PLLC, a private aviation concierge and corporate logistics company, and I built its entire tech stack myself.
Outside of Glades Air, I’ve built a few things of my own:
Every one of these projects was built independently, outside of any employer or client work.
My view on technology is simple. Start with the people and who owns each decision, then pick the tools. The hard part usually isn’t finding another system. Sometimes the honest fix is a clearer process, and I’d rather say that than sell something nobody needs.
I also work with leaders and teams on leadership and business growth, and I bring experience in coaching. I previously worked for Dale Carnegie. I’m also working on a forthcoming book.
Previously I served as Partnerships Director for TEDxOrlando (through May 2026).
I’m pursuing the NBAA Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) credential. I want to keep learning from the people who run flight departments every day, and keep making room for the next generation coming up behind us.
I seek to follow Jesus, and I try to be a good steward of the technology I build and the people it’s meant to serve.
